From The Porch

Keep Going. The Work Isn’t Finished Yet.

The Father Eclipse may have helped you see the patterns, wounds, and beliefs that shaped you. These companion videos are here to help you slow down, sit with what you’re discovering, and keep listening to what the Father wants you to know.

Move through them at your own pace. Don’t rush. Let each conversation help you connect the dots, understand your heart, and learn to live more fully as a beloved son.

The Father Eclipse

The way you see God may be shaped more by your experience with your earthly father than you realize. In this first companion video for The Father Eclipse, you’ll take a closer look at the “father lens” you’ve carried and how it may be affecting the way you see God. This isn’t something to rush through. Take some time to sit with what comes up, pay attention to what God may be showing you, and ask one simple question: “Father, what do you want me to know?”

The Invisible Wall

The walls you’ve built around your heart probably didn’t come from nowhere. At one point, they may have helped you survive hurt, anxiety, disappointment, or fear. But what protected you then may be keeping you from living freely now. In this companion video, you’ll look at the survival responses and false identities you’ve carried, how they show up in your relationships, and what it looks like to begin taking those walls down one brick at a time. As you work through this chapter, sit with one question: What is your wall protecting?

The Lens

The home you grew up in helped shape the lens you use to see yourself, other people, and even God. In this companion video, you’ll look back at the patterns, fears, unspoken rules, and beliefs you picked up along the way, often without realizing it. Some of those things may still be shaping the way you live today. As you work through this chapter, pay attention to the lies you’ve believed and where they came from, then sit with one important question: Who told you that?

The House That Formed Me

You may be seeing life through a lens you didn’t even know was there. The things you learned growing up can help explain why certain situations still trigger fear, anxiety, anger, or the need to protect yourself. In this companion video, you’ll look at how your past continues to shape your reactions today and how slowing down can help you respond from who you are now instead of what you learned to do then. Your childhood isn’t an excuse, but it can be part of the explanation. As you work through this chapter, ask the Father: What do you want me to know about my heart?

The Wound

Your deepest wound may not be what happened to you, but what you came to believe about yourself because of it. In this companion video, you’ll begin looking beneath the pain to the conclusions you carried forward about who you are, what you need, and how you have to protect yourself. Those wounds may have shaped your choices for years without you ever seeing the connection. As you work through this chapter, slow down and ask the Father to show you what’s underneath it all: What did that wound teach you about yourself?

The Hunger

There’s a hunger underneath the way you live, work, perform, and relate to the people around you. The hunger itself isn’t the problem. It may be pointing to something your heart has wanted for a long time: to be seen, heard, known, understood, or affirmed. In this companion video, you’ll look at the ways that hunger may have driven your need to achieve, prove yourself, or gain the approval of others. As you work through this chapter, pay attention to what’s underneath the things you chase and ask yourself one simple question: What are you really hungry for?

Restoration

What you missed in relationship often has to be restored in relationship. In this companion video, you’ll look at the places where you needed to be seen, known, affirmed, or loved and didn’t receive it. You’ll also see how understanding yourself as a beloved son can begin to reshape the way you see God, yourself, and the men around you. This kind of healing takes time, so don’t rush it. As you work through this chapter, sit with one question: What did you need that you never received?

Breaking the Cycle

Your story doesn’t have to be passed on to the next generation. In this companion video, you’ll look at the ways your own wounds may have shaped how you fathered your children and what it can look like to repair what was missed. Whether your kids are young, grown, or raising kids of their own, there is still time to own what happened, ask for forgiveness, and make room for healing. As you work through this chapter, sit with one important question: What is preventing you from doing the same?

Living as a Beloved Son

This journey doesn’t end when you finish the book or companion guide. In many ways, this is where it begins. In this final companion video, you’ll look at what it means to stop striving for the Father’s love and start living from it. You’ll also be challenged to keep growing, stay connected to other men, and become the kind of man who can help others walk this road too. As you move forward, keep coming back to the question that matters most: What kind of man are you becoming?
